Field of View (FOV)
Posted by David - DriverCam
FOV (Field of View) refers to how much of the road and surrounding area a dashcam's lens can capture in a single frame. A wider field of view records more of the scene, including adjacent lanes and roadside activity, while a narrower field of view focuses more on what is directly ahead. Choosing the right FOV is a balance between capturing a broad area and maintaining image detail, with most quality dashcams offering a field of view that provides excellent coverage without introducing excessive edge distortion.
