Explain Different Dashcam Views

Posted by David - DriverCam

Some dashcams are available with one, two, or three cameras, commonly referred to as 1CH, 2CH, and 3CH systems. A 1CH dashcam records the road ahead, while a 2CH system adds a rear camera to capture vehicles behind. A 3CH system includes an additional interior camera, providing extra coverage inside the vehicle. Many interior cameras use a wide-angle fisheye lens with up to a 210° field of view, allowing them to capture not only the cabin but also much of the view through the side windows. This provides valuable footage of incidents occurring alongside the vehicle that may not be visible from the front or rear cameras alone.
