The BlackVue DR970X-2CH LTE Plus II dashcam is a 4K Front Camera with Full HD Rear Camera with inbuilt LTE module for connectivity to BlackVue's Cloud services. Released in 2025 the BlackVue DR970X-2CH LTE Plus II brings further improvements to the DR970X-2CH LTE Plus (2024 model).

4K Front & Full HD Rear 

The latest Sony STARVIS 2 image sensor in the front camera, recording at 30 frames per second in approximately 8.4 megapixel resolution and Full HD Sony Starvis in the rear (please note the rear does not have Sony Starvis 2) recording at 30 frames per second in approximately 2.1 megapixel. 

1 Channel HDR support on the front camera

BlackVue HDR also reduces motion blur and improves detail, making license plates easier to read on moving vehicles.

Parking Mode - 2 Surveillance Modes 

Motion Detection Mode: records a 1-minute buffered video whenever a motion is detected by the front or rear camera. Motion detection areas can be set manually in the app.

Time Lapse Mode: records constantly at 1 frame per second so each 1 minute video covers 30 minutes of real time. Recommended if you routinely park in busy areas.

Pre-impact recording: in both modes, the dash cam also records buffered Event clips in case of impact. That means 1-minute clips that start 10 seconds before the detected impact.

Please note the camera will need to be installed using the included hardwire cable to connect to your vehicles fuse box to provide a power source for parking recording. 

Improved Compression and High Bitrate

DR Series II delivers 4K video with H.265 (HEVC) compression, ensuring superior quality and efficiency. It also supports H.264 for broader compatibility.

With a high bitrate of up to 60Mbps, the front camera captures fast-moving scenes with exceptional clarity and no compression artifacts (please note the Extreme image quality recording at 60Mbps front & 10 Mbps rear is only supported by H.265 (HEVC). 

Concerned about large file sizes? BlackVue has you covered—each 4K file includes a lightweight Sub-Stream version (under 5MB) fast Wi-Fi access.

How does it work?

1. Your camera must have access to power by either being hardwired to your vehicle's fuse box or supported by a dashcam battery pack. Access to LTE functions is limited by the power source available. 
2. Insert your nano sim with data from your provider of choice (most of our customers use a prepaid monthly plan with about 3GB of data until they establish their level of usage – detailed info can be found at the bottom of the Cloud info page)
3. Select your BlackVue Cloud Plan that suits you and your family usage (yes you could view your loved ones camera as well – a big safety bonus)

You can provide power to your dashcam by either the cigarette lighter, USB-C port or your car battery using the hardwire kit. 

For parking mode to be enabled this requires either the hardwiring of the camera to your 12V accessory battery using the included hardwire kit or using a dashcam battery pack.
