What does a G-Sensor do?

Posted by David - DriverCam

A G-sensor, or gravity sensor, is a built-in motion detector that helps your dashcam automatically protect important footage when sudden movement or impact occurs. It constantly monitors your vehicle’s motion in three directions—forward and backward, side to side, and up and down—and detects any sharp changes, such as during a collision or hard braking. When this happens, the dashcam instantly locks and saves the current video so it can’t be overwritten.

Even when your car is parked, the G-sensor remains active if parking mode is enabled, recording and preserving clips of any impact or tampering. This feature ensures crucial evidence is always safe, giving you peace of mind that your dashcam will automatically capture and protect the moments that matter most.
