About

Released in March 2023 the new DR970X-2CH is the successor to the popular DR900X-2CH Plus. An upgrade to the CPU provides an improvement in image quality over the 900X-2CH Plus, offering clearer details in challenging lighting conditions.

The DR970X-2CH provides 4K Ultra High Definition video capture using the new upgraded CPU for a clearer image. It also boasts an 8 megapixel CMOS sensor for the front dashcam, and a Full HD Sony Starvis Image Sensor for the rear dashcam.

Capture everything front and rear! The 155° wide angle takes full advantage of the 4K resolution.

4K: The front camera records 4K Ultra High Definiton video (3840x2160) at 30fps. 4K UHD is four times as many pixels as Full HD. This is a huge difference, and it shows. License plates can be made out more clearly and from further away. Besides, you don’t need a 4K monitor to appreciate 4K videos. Even on a Full HD monitor, you can zoom in much further without any visible pixilation occurring.

Effortless Setup: Simply connect to your dashcam without leaving the BlackVue App. With Seamless Pairing, setting up your dashcam is a breeze. Just power the dashcam, then easily connect from the BlackVue app and follow the simple instructions. Whether you want to browse your dashcam’s files and settings or connect your dashcam to the Cloud, Seamless Pairing makes everything easy and intuitive.

Wi-Fi: Download videos to your phone at blazing speed. Wi-Fi also lets your BlackVue connect to BlackVue Cloud via any home or mobile Wi-Fi hotspot (router).

GPS: Visualize the location of your vehicle on the map during video playback and overlay speed on videos (can be hidden in settings).

Built-in Impact & Motion Detection: While driving, the built-in accelerometer (G-sensor) detects impacts and sudden changes in speed. While parked, your BlackVue also detects visual movements around your vehicles (in Motion + Impact detection mode).

Parking Protection Mode: Using the included hardwiring cable, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing that your car is under protection while you are away. The dashcam automatically switches into Parking Mode to monitor your parked vehicle (requires hardwiring).

With the built-in low-voltage protection, the DR970X can be hardwired using the included 3-pin Hardwire Cable to get Parking Recording coverage for as long as your vehicle's battery has some extra charge.
Supports existing BlackVue Parking Recordings Add-ons, such as Battery Packs for an ultimate parking recording coverage.
BlackVue Cloud is even more accessible by plugging in the optional BlackVue LTE Module, or by pairing the camera to an existing Wi-Fi hotspot signal in (or near) the vehicle.

Installation

The DR970X-2CH Dashcam can either be hardwired to the vehicles fuse panel, plugged directly into a cigarette lighter socket, or connected to a Blackvue parking recording battery (link) for maximum parking recording coverage.

Simple installation: Just plug the dashcam into the cigarette lighter socket of your vehicle.

Hardwired installation: To enable parking protection mode, use the hardwiring cable to power the dashcam.

The installation process for the DR970X is identical to the other BlackVue X Series dash cams. Our mobile dash cam installation service is available in the Auckland region, please make an enquiry for a quote for hardwiring installation.
