Explain CPL Filter

Posted by David - DriverCam

A CPL (Circular Polarising Lens) filter is an optional accessory that fits over the dashcam's lens to reduce unwanted reflections and glare from the windscreen and dashboard. By filtering reflected light, a CPL filter can improve image clarity, increase contrast, and make details such as vehicles, road markings, and scenery easier to see—particularly in bright, sunny conditions. While it slightly reduces the amount of light entering the lens, a correctly adjusted CPL filter can significantly improve daytime video quality in many vehicles.

Bluetooth provides a fast, low-power connection between your dashcam and smartphone, making it quicker and easier to connect through the manufacturer's app. On compatible models, Bluetooth is typically used to establish the initial connection, after which the dashcam automatically switches to its faster Wi-Fi connection for viewing live footage, downloading recordings, and changing settings. Bluetooth can also be used to connect compatible accessories, such as wireless emergency record buttons or remote controls, allowing you to manually save important footage without reaching for the dashcam.
